Get good grades or the Hamster gets it

Image you have a 12 year old son.  He’s in the preteen years and we all know what that is like!  I’ve always felt that the preteen boys have it worse than the preteen girls.  There voices are changing, they are growing in more ways than one, they are confused about girls but they know they like them.  I know that my nephews had problems understanding the concept of school, education and good gradesLynn Middlebrooks Geter whenever a pretty girl entered the room (literally, or on TV or in their imagination…….) Now the questions is:  What do you do to make them realize the importance of getting good grades?

How about grounding him from computer games or the TV.  Taking away phone privileges is a big one now a days.  How about making him go to the movies with his *gulp* Grandmother!  That just may be too cruel.  So, what to do?  I know, have him kill his pet hamster!  Wait……..what?

That is what a Georgia mother did to her son when he came home with bad grades.  She gave him a hammer and made him kill his own hamster.  The boy, emotionally distraught, told his teacher about the incident and she contacted child services who contacted the Sheriff’s department.  She is facing one charge each of animal cruelty, child cruelty and battery.

Some Bad News for the Obama Administration

ShrekRobinHood Little by little the MSM is beginning to wake up…..sort of.  They are beginning to see that the conservatives had a reason for being concerned about what Obama and the Dems have been saying for the past couple years.  Here are 4 stories that show that ‘We The People’ are now paying attention to the many lies that were told on the campaign trail:

1.  When the information isn’t favorable – scream bias

After the election, a progressive Web site said Rasmussen had the third-highest mark for accuracy in predicting the outcome of the 2008 presidential primaries. And his last general election poll came within tenths of a point of the final result.

However, the Rasmussen polls are not favorable to Obama anymore so guess what…..

Democrats and liberal bloggers are on the attack. Their target: Independent pollster Scott Rasmussen. Multiple blogs charge that Rasmussen’s surveys are flawed at best and biased at worst. Eric Boehlert from Media Matters calls Rasmussen Reports the "GOP’s favorite polling firm," saying it, "seems to have a patent on asking really dumb — and misleading — polling questions designed solely to generate dubious ‘buzz.’"

The Earth has been Warming for 90 years!

Ee Gads!  This is getting good.  Some armature sleuths at Watts up with that blog have found some interesting articles that discuss the horrors of climate change and the ice caps melting…..from the 1920’s and 1930’s!  Gee, I wonder how long the ice caps have to be melting before they will disappear.  So far, 90 years isn’t long enough.

In the Monthly Weather Review in 1922 (which was discussed in a Washington Post article in that same year) says almost the same thing as what we have been hearing for a decade or two.  Here are some highlights:

CNN is DOA, NJ says ‘no’ to Bible, and Adult Stem Cells successful again

My sisters are both CNN watchers.  So, I absolutely love reporting this

CNN will finish 2009 behind MSNBC in prime-time ratings, the first time CNN has ever trailed a competitor other than the Fox News Channel over a full calendar year.

CNN will finish the fourth quarter of 2009 in fourth place — another first — and with two weeks left has been fourth on more than 100 nights this year.

Fox has averaged 699,000 viewers for the year, up 10 percent, in the weeknight prime-time hours…..MSNBC was second with 307,000 viewers, while CNN averaged 297,000.

In ratings for the total day, Fox, which was up 16 percent, averaged 320,000 viewers for the year, while CNN was down 24 percent, to 185,000, and MSNBC was down 21 percent, to 149,000 viewers.

New Jersey teacher decided that the Bible was not appropriate reading material:

A teacher at the Madison Park Elementary School in Old Bridge, N.J., told a 3rd grader that the Bible was not appropriate reading material for quiet time, and ordered the girl to put the book away, according to the girl’s parents.

4 Cops killed so Huckabee won’t win 2012 election

Yes, you read that right.  The liberal media has already politicized the shooting at a Seattle coffee shop that killed 4 police officers.

Here is information on the only suspect:

(Maurice) Clemmons has a long criminal record in Arkansas and Washington. He was released from custody in Pierce County just a week ago, and was facing a charge of raping a child. Family members described him as being in a state of mental deterioration. Last spring, he was also accused of punching a sheriff’s deputy in the face.

At the time this is being wrote the suspect is in a standoff with the police and has671603A not been taken into custody.  Basically – the story hasn’t even ended yet.  This hasn’t stopped the press from attacking former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee for commuting Clemmons 95 year sentence.  Basically Huckabee followed one of the main democratic talking points of not allowing juveniles to have excessively long sentences for crimes.   This talking point has even made it to the U.S. Supreme court.

Custody dispute, kick a Jew and High Jumper

There are three more stories that I would like to share.  This has been a busy week!

There is a custody dispute going on.  The parents were lesbian partners and the Judge has awarded custody to the non-biological mother.  The biologicalKittyAssassin mother renounced homosexuality when they broke up in 2003.  She was found in contempt of court for not letting her ex partner have access to the child this year.  The Judge feels that the only way to ensure equal access to the child was to switch custody.  No mention on why the biological mother decided to stop visitations after 6 years.

10 Florida middle school students received in school suspension for participating in “Kick a Jew day”.  The school will now have “cultural sensitivity training” in the mornings.

Margaret Bergmann Lambert, age 95, has finally seen her 1936 German National record restored for the high jump.  The Nazi’s had disallowed her accomplishment because she was a Jew.  Her response to this: “I’m very happy they finally did what they did — I was a damned good high jumper”.

Darwin’s Creature Marries Virtual Declaration

Hey!  It’s been awhile since I’ve done a headline post.  I found these stories of interest, combined the information together for the title and will now share with you!

A rare first edition of Charles Darwin’s “On the origin of Species” is being auctioned off in London.  The best part – the family that donated it kept itNewspaper dress in the “reading” section of their lavatory.

Dr. Seuss looking creatures are found in living below 656 feet – where the sun can’t go.  A slideshow can be seen here.  It is part of a 10 year census on Marine Life.

A man has fallen in love with his virtual girlfriend. He and his Nintendo DS are headed to Guam for a lovely ceremony and the newlyweds will stay for a Honeymoon.  This marriage will be legal.  He and his Nintendo will return to Tokyo for a public reception.

There are now over 77,000 signatures on the Manhattan Declaration.  This is a document stating that our fundamentals truths include:

  1. the sanctity of human life
  2. the dignity of marriage as the conjugal union of husband and wife
  3. the rights of conscience and religious liberty.

Bully’s in the White House

I can’t help but to laugh at all the people who are “surprised” at how the White House is trying to intimidate the news organizations into reporting only positive stories on what they are doing.  Seriously!  They are surprised.  It’s not like we, conservatives, didn’t forewarn everyone that this would happen.  You can go here and here to see just two of the articles I wrote on the subject before the elections.

Well, the New York Times, along with most of the other liberal news organizations, are finally waking up:

Mr. Ailes, (chairman and chief executive at FNC) who had reached out to Mr. Axelrod (Sr. White House adviser) to address rising tensions between the network and the White House, told him that Fox’s reporters were fair, if tough, and should be considered separate from the Fox commentators who were skewering President Obama nightly, according to people briefed on the meeting. Mr. Axelrod said it was the view of the White House that Fox News had blurred the line between news and anti-Obama advocacy. new-york-times-building

What both men took to be the start of a frank but productive dialogue proved, in retrospect, more akin to the round of pre-Pearl Harbor peace talks between the United States and Japan.

America’s toughest Sheriff fights federal government

I just love this sheriff.  Joe Arpaio is fighting with the federal government again.  Why?  Because he is actually arresting illegal aliens in his county.  *Gasp* How dare he follow the laws of the land!

An Arizona sheriff known for cracking down on people who are in the country illegally launched a crime and immigration sweep in northwestern metro Phoenix on Friday, a half day after SheriffJoeArpaio officials in Washington limited his powers to make federal immigration arrests….

"It doesn’t bother me, because we are going to do the same thing," said Arpaio, whose deputies had arrested 16 people by Friday evening on unspecified charges. "I am the elected sheriff. I don’t take orders from the federal government."

The officers were participating in a federal program that grants a limited number of local police departments special powers to make immigration arrests and speed up deportation. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement stripped Arpaio of his power to let 100 deputies make federal immigration arrests, but renewed another agreement that allows 60 jails officers to determine the immigration status of people in jail.

Target gets targeted

Target had the audacity to “insult” the illegal aliens of this country.  They had this costume for sale:

costume_illegal Alien

According to KTLA in California they were not selling this costume in the stores, just online.  It has now been removed from their online store.

So, what else do they sell online (and in their stores) that have had complaints year after year after year after year…….well, you get the point.

We have the Naughty Nun:

But never fear!  Amazon has the Illegal Alien costume for sale – just click here to purchase.

Update:  I’ve had to relink to Amazon a couple times already because stores are either sold out or have removed the item.
