What should pro-life democrats do?

tim_as_darkness

How many times do we hear that the democratic party isn’t the party of death?  They falsely claim they are the party of choice.  Well, once again we can show that they are only for the choice as long as they agree with that choice.

Rep. Bart Stupak, a pro-life Democrat, is chagrined. “They’re ignoring me,” he says, in a phone interview with National Review Online. “That’s their strategy now. The House Democratic  leaders think they have the votes to pass the Senate’s health-care bill without us. At this point, there is no doubt that they’ve been able to peel off one or two of my twelve. And even if they don’t have the votes, it’s been made clear to us that they won’t insert our language on the abortion issue.”

Kathleen Sebelious made the network interview rounds last week and said specifically that abortion would not be funded by Obama’s healthcare plan.  She wouldn’t answer why they wouldn’t put that in writing.  Lies are the change we get … I’m afraid to see what the hope is.

Rex Roland is the Only Loser Here

Rex Roland, a 6th grade teacher in a North Carolina School, claims it was just a joke, a way to get close to the kids.  But one mom isn’t laughing.  And I’m not either.

From NECN:

(NECN/WLOS) – A middle school teacher’s controversial style of educating has him in hot water with one parent.

Rex Roland teaches sixth grade at Enka Middle School in Candler, North Carolina.  Parent Patty Clement said Roland wrote "loser" in red ink after correcting her daughter’s paper.

"I went to the principal in November and complained," Clement said.  "She said she would put a stop to it."

A few weeks ago, another of 11-year-old Heather Clement’s graded assignment made its way home and at the top of the page was a step beyond the original — "minus 20% for being a loser."  The word "loser" underlined twice and capitalized.

Mrs. Clement called the assistant superintendent, then met with the principal and Mr. Roland.  She said Roland apologized and said it was his way of joking with students.  To Mrs. Clement, the practice is unacceptable.

"Suspend him," she said.  "Make him think about what he has done — the severity of this."

The Republicans promise a no “pork” diet | Democrats promise to Spend on bigger government

image The Republicans in congress have agreed to not seek any earmarks or pork projects for their districts, where Democrats have said they won’t seek earmarks for “private companies”. So we have the republicans pulling an election year stunt and the democrats respond by saying “we will just spend the money in grants to local governments”…. who will in turn spend it with private contractors.

I don’t believe the republicans promise will last longer than the election and the democrats  really need a new PR person… The “not on private business” line is pretty stupid.

The republican and democratic parties have racked up 12 trillion in debt and with 1 trillion plus deficits coming for the foreseeable future, why should I believe either party is serious? The only thing good about this is at least until November the spending will be slowed some.

What are your thoughts?

All Dressed Up and Nowhere to Go

Okay, you all know how I feel about Gay Marriage, and homosexual activity across the board.  But you also know, I hope, that I am fair, and reasonable, and truly believe in hate the sin,  love the sinner.

So I’m torn on this one.  On the one hand, if it’s school policy, it’s school policy, onlesbian prom the other hand, this isn’t a Private School and I don’t see how this CAN be school policy.

Prom is coming up…or it was…and one of the students, a lesbian, wants to bring her “date”, another female, and wear a tuxedo.  Instead of either banning her and her date, changing the policy, or insisting that she bring a male “friend”, they have canceled the entire prom.  This doesn’t seem fair, either to the student or the school.  Regardless of whether or not someone is a lesbian, prom dates are not always easy to come by (can’t imagine what it’s like in South Korea… ;) to Val and Alexandra), so I don’t understand the policy of only bringing dates of the opposite sex.   I mean, couldn’t two girls or two guys that didn’t have “dates” come as friends?  Is prom really all about pairing couples?  Or is it a last bash to celebrate four years together and a way to say goodbye to their old life and hello to their new?  Even if it was originally intended to be “date night” (King/Queen), should it remain so?  How many tears have been spilt by girls who weren’t asked?

Texas Textbooks that brainwash

I tried to find this story on CNN and MSNBC but I couldn’t find it anywhere but Fox (for National news).  I couldn’t.  Seriously, I couldn’t.  Go to Google news and Fox, along with some conservative blogs/websites, are the only ones talking about this subject.  Which is really very funny because both conservative and liberals are being vocal.LiesTeachers

Why should we care?  This is going on in Texas, not every state, right?  Wrong.  Texas is one of the biggest buyer of textbooks, which means they have the most say over what textbooks are used in about 90% of America’s public schools.

The battle right now is over what will be taught in social studies and history.  From the mindset of the right:

It’s a battle Jay Sekulow, Chief Counsel for the American Center for Law and Justice, is watching closely, "Well, if you grab the minds of the young people you grab the minds of the next generation." Sekulow believes a child’s school board meeting is the most important governmental event a parent can plug into. "Parents don’t check their rights to raise their children at the door to the schoolhouse," Sekulow cautions. He knows the stakes are high this week in Texas because, "This curriculum, once established, will affect a generation of students – how they think.

Women fight so girls can die

It is women who lead the fight for abortion.  Women.  If abortion and the killing of an innocent child wasn’t lawful and encouraged we wouldn’t be here right now, would we?  Every time a womanoneChildPropaganda stands by abortion, she stands by this story.  She says that women are not worth anything.  She says that it is okay to encourage a male dominated society which history has shown to be violent societies, especially toward women.

So, as the story goes:

XINRAN XUE, a Chinese writer, describes visiting a peasant family in the Yimeng area of Shandong province…….“To my absolute horror, I saw a tiny foot poking out of the pail. The midwife must have dropped that tiny baby alive into the slops pail! I nearly threw myself at it, but the two policemen….held my shoulders in a firm grip…..“‘But that’s…murder…and you’re the police!’ The little foot was still now. The policemen held on to me for a few more minutes. ‘Doing a baby girl is not a big thing around here,’ [an] older woman said comfortingly. ‘That’s a living child,’ I said in a shaking voice, pointing at the slops pail. ‘It’s not a child,’ she corrected me. ‘It’s a girl baby, and we can’t keep it. Around these parts, you can’t get by without a son. Girl babies don’t count.’”

Stupid Is As Stupid Does…Diesel Clothing Does Award Winning Stupid

If being stupid is the objective, then they score for the win.

Yesterday, I went to Holy Name Cathedral for a “Evening With Mary”.  We had Mass, the Rosary, and one of the visionaries from Medjugorje (Ivan Dragicevic) actually had his daily apparition right there on the altar!  It was, as you can imagine, way amazing.

On the way back to the car, we passed a store.   Apparently, though you sure couldn’t tell from the window display, it was a clothing store.  There were no “clothes” to be seen, but the window was filled with signs, sporting various slogans on how to be cool.

The name of the store was “Diesel”.  I have never heard of this store, but the people I was with were all too familiar with it.  It is owned by a man named Renzo Rosso.  His “headquarters” is in Molvena in Northern Italy.

So what was on the signs in the windows?

diesel

diesel 2

I thought these were outrageous enough, but when I got home I began to do a little research.

The stupidity of Sean Penn

I love the Hollyweird left.  They have no idea what they talk about, yet they just keep spilling their guts and showing their stupidity.  Sean Penn is really good at it too.

Penn, appearing on HBO’s "Real Time with Bill Maher" on Friday, defended Chavez during a segment in which he detailed his work with the JP Haitian Relief Organization, which he co-founded.

"Every day, this elected leader is called a dictator here, and we just accept it, and accept it" said Penn, winner of two Best Actor Academy Awards. "And this is mainstream media, whoPennChavez should — truly, there should be a bar by which one goes to prison for these kinds of lies."

1 + 1 = denial of the first amendment.  Oooookkaaayyyyyy.  He also said that he hoped people who questioned his motives in helping Haiti would get rectal cancer, but that’s another story for another day.  The hypocrisy of it all is astounding.

Let’s just look a bit into the charges made against Sean Penn’s buddy:

Human Rights Violations

A 2006 State Department report on human rights documented a slew of abuses, including data implicating Chavez’s security forces in about 6,000 killings over five years.

How far would the Obama administration go?

I’ve reported some pretty odd things about the Obama Administration.  I thought nothing was going to top blackmailing and then bribing the Senator from Nebraska with free Medicaid for his state.  However, if this turns out to be true…….yikes!  What the heck is going on in D.C.?

In a nut shell – A NY Congressman, Eric Massa, announced he was not going to run for office again because of a recurrence of cancer.  Then the media reports that there is an ethics inquiry concerning Massa making an inappropriate comment to a male staffer.  Now he is resigning.  The “incident” happened 67 days ago and it is released now.  So, what is going on?Eric_Massa

It turns out Massa wasn’t a supporter of Obama’s Budget and is not a supporter of Obama’s healthcare reform.

Massa had some things to say as his last act as a politician on his radio show.  First, let’s deal with the inappropriate comment:

(After dancing with bride and bridesmaid at a wedding reception and returning to his table) "One of them looked at me and, as they would do after, I don’t know, 15 gin and tonics, and goodness only knows how many bottles of champagne, a staff member made an intonation to me that maybe I should be chasing after the bridesmaid, and his points were clear and his words were far more colorful than that.
