The Republicans promise a no “pork” diet | Democrats promise to Spend on bigger government

image The Republicans in congress have agreed to not seek any earmarks or pork projects for their districts, where Democrats have said they won’t seek earmarks for “private companies”. So we have the republicans pulling an election year stunt and the democrats respond by saying “we will just spend the money in grants to local governments”…. who will in turn spend it with private contractors.

I don’t believe the republicans promise will last longer than the election and the democrats  really need a new PR person… The “not on private business” line is pretty stupid.

The republican and democratic parties have racked up 12 trillion in debt and with 1 trillion plus deficits coming for the foreseeable future, why should I believe either party is serious? The only thing good about this is at least until November the spending will be slowed some.

What are your thoughts?

Plane Crashes Into IRS Building – Austin, TX

image Before noon eastern today “Joseph Andrew Stack, a 53-year-old software engineer who lived in Texas, crashed the plane intentionally” into the IRS building in Austin, TX (source FoxNews). He left behind a manifesto that describes his disdain for the IRS.

As I watched the news I noticed a nice little trend happening on MSNBC and CNN, that is was those crazy conservatives and those “tea party people” that caused this. After reading his manifesto I don’t consider him conservative or liberal, but seriously angry and disappointed in the US system (he claims it is all lies). He seems to take shots at pretty much everything, including Catholics, in his manifesto.

Let us know what you think of what is happening and feel free to add in related information below.

Even though Joe apparently didn’t like Catholics (and I think Christians), I will say please say a prayer for his soul and his family. Remember to include those who were hurt or may have been killed by his actions (no deaths have been confirmed as I type this).

WOW! Senator Evan Bayh Not Running Again

Senator Evan Bayh (D-IN) won’t seek re-election. According to FoxNews:

Democratic Sen. Evan Bayh will not seek re-election this year, Fox News has learned.

The two-term Indiana senator is known as a moderate Democrat. His retirement gives Republicans yet another opportunity to pick up a seat in a year when several incumbent Democrats are considered vulnerable.

Former GOP Sen. Dan Coats had been planning to challenge Bayh in November.

This is pretty wild,Senator Dan Coats didn’t seek re-election because he didn’t want to face Bayh, who was a popular 2 term Governor of Indiana and the son of a popular Senator (Birch Bayh).

Simply put, this is gearing up to be a complete flip of congress and the senate. I don’t claim that this is “America wants republicans movement”, but it is a complete rejection of what our government has become.

Rahm Emanual: “The First Amendment is Overrated”

It took awhile, but I finally found the clip of Rahm Emanual saying the “When you think about the First Amendment, it highly overrated”. This is not some low level political adviser to the President, this is the White House Chief of Staff. This is one of the key advisers to the President of the United States who swears to defend the Constitution. How do you feel having a person with this view advising POTUS? Watch the video and tell us what you think using that highly overrated first amendment!

Air America is Off the Air

image Air America, the poor attempt at countering conservative talk radio, is toast, el deado on arrivo or in legal terms bankrupt and will be ceasing operations. In layman terms Air America was unentertaining, couldn’t get an audience and didn’t make money.

Air America was founded in 2004 and continued to prove how much the left never got why the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and a whole host of others got listeners and kept them. It was simply a positive message about America and its future as Ronald Regan preached. Air America and the like are negative and frankly who wants to listen or watch that?

Take MSNBC’s Keith Oberman who has “The Worst American” on his nightly show (normal a Fox News personality) and talks about how horrible the US is. He can’t get a decent rating and he co-hosts Sunday Night Football which gets millions of people watching it; you’d think curiosity could get him an few million people watching. Just watch 10 minutes of Hannity and 10 minutes of Oberman and listen to the content. Hannity expresses his love for America (and attacks his opponents) and Oberman talks about how much this country sucks (and attacks his opponents).

Stupid Statements On Haiti

image Much has been made of Pat Robertson’s stupid statement about Haiti this week, but stupid doesn’t have a political side; it just is.

The dumb statement award is a tie between Pat Robertson and Danny Glover for the following…

Pat Robertson for:

Haiti "swore a pact to the devil," saying, "We will serve you if you will get us free from the French. Robertson continued, "they (Haitians) have been cursed by one thing after the other."

Pat – Sorry a group of people can’t make a pact with the devil for others, just themselves. It is called free will.

Danny Glover for:

"They are all in peril because of global warming." Then, he lamented the failure of the climate summit in Copenhagen. As a result of that failure, he says, "this is what happened."

Danny, um Earth quakes have nothing to do with “temperature of the atmosphere”. It has a little bit more to do with the big cracks in the Earth.

And Rush Limbaugh gets runner up for bad timing for:

"We’ve already donated to Haiti,” Limbaugh told the caller on his radio show. "It’s called the U.S. income tax."

100 Hours… Your Opinion?

Outside of my insanely conservative politics, I am also a marketing junkie. Here is a video that “Keeping America Safe” put out. It is a very tough and hard shot at the Obama administration. They “facts” are not really disputable, since this is the order of events. What I am interested in is your opinion of the ad. Did you find it effective, did it influence your opinion, and what is your general view of the ad?

Keeping America Safe is run by Elizabeth L. Cheney, Debra Burlingame and William Kristol.
