Homosexuality and Abortion
I am the first to say that I am tired of people linking homosexuality to abortion. They are completely separate issues in the political realm and tying them too close together is detrimental to our movement. With that in mind I stumbled across an article by PLAGAL which is great. Highlights:
ABORTION AS GAY BASHING?
Gays and the unborn have an important characteristic in common: In the minds of many people we are considered less than human. And because we are considered less than human, we are not deemed entitled to the basic human rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
There is nothing academic about this comparison. If, as recent scientific discoveries suggest, homosexuality has a genetic basis, the day is not far off when doctors will be able to determine if a child in the womb is predisposed to be gay. Once medical science achieves that ability, it will be possible to do by legal, surgical procedure what all the homophobes and gay-bashers throughout history have tried and failed to do — to eliminate lesbians and gays once and for all.
Biggest Loser, week 5
Kate is finally being able to exercise. Here’s the total (before Fat Tuesday of course):
Kate: 156! Minus 1 lbs, or total loss of 4.3%
Which is still behind Cory: 230! Minus 0 lbs but still at 5.3%!
Cory is also not feeling well, with a fever, sore throat, the like. Kate is noticing that her lack of eating well in the mornings are the cause of nausea in the morning classes and before lunch. Generally it goes away after some crackers though.
Still, Kate is catching up and she is dedicated to working out more faithfully after today of course!
He may be small, but he’s mine
My hamster Chuck is going to be in hospice care from now on. He is very old and has an abscess that has blinded him in one eye. This happened right before Jelly died, with or without antibiotics. I don’t want him to die being stuffed full of nasty antibiotics that won’t help. So I’m just going to give him some lovin’ until God decides to take him.

Biggest Loser, week 4
Good news!
Kate’s number: 157! Down three pounds. Total weight loss is 3.5% body weight.
Cory’s number: 230! Down five pounds. Total weight loss is 5.3% body weight.
Now that Kate can begin to exercise, it has gotten more competitive around here. Cory is not exercising in particular but he takes public transportation and walks a lot since he is on the job hunt. Kate is proud- she is able to (slowly) incorporate exercise into her routine now! That means its on boy, no more ms nice gal.
The doctor ended up running every single test under the sun, including RF, ANA, CRP, lyme disease, and even a pregnancy test 
All negative. But I am getting better a little bit every day. So perhaps it was some unknown viral thing that stuck around. Still I know what my derm presentation is going to be on tomorrow! Tick borne diseases are really fascinating, actually…
