What is it about Religion?
By Valerie Jane | July 8, 2007
For some reason the liberals think that traditional religion is some sort of caveman anti-woman throw back to the dark ages. In today’s society we want to say that living immorally is okay because we don’t see why it is wrong. This is why we have always had people of ‘the cloth’ who teach us right from wrong. Mahatma Gandhi, Blessed Mother Teresa, and Dr. Martin Luther King come to mind as examples of some of the great leaders from the last century. They taught us by their actions how to live a peaceful, loving and moral life. But we don’t want to listen to them because their way isn’t fun. We want churches to alter the definition of morality because we find it too difficult to live like that. What kind of leaders would they be if they changed their teachings based on the whims of society? Politicians I guess.
What baffles me is how people say Religion is anti-woman. I am Catholic so I will let you in on a little secret. It was the Nuns who ran
everything. Shhh, don’t tell anyone. The Nuns were the school principals, hospital administrators, and missionary coordinators. Can’t let that get out now can we? Some of you may be screaming “But women aren’t Priests!” Mary, a woman and the Mother of Jesus, wasn’t a preacher but she did lead and many followed. Nuns represent the love, kindness and giving nature of the Virgin Mary. Priests represent Jesus and the Apostles who were the ones who did most of the preaching to the masses. This is why women are Nuns and men are Priests. The different sexes actually do play different roles in this thing we call life.
This brings me to another point. Who was it that decided to degrade women who chose to be a Nun as their career which has led to their decline? Let us think for a minute. Do we need to bring out the history books on this? That’s right, it was the feminists. Don’t believe me? Just watch the news for about a month. You will see that it is the feminists who like to put down women who choose the traditional roles in society. They are the ones who constantly talk about how horrible Nuns or other women in traditional religious roles are. They are the ones who degrade women who live a life they don’t want.
So, lets do a summary of all this. Churches are supposed to teach morality. Morality is something that cannot be changed. What is right is right, what is wrong is wrong and that won’t change. The Church shouldn’t change the teachings of morality just to fill the seats in church. What kind of world would this be if society was in charge of morality? Los Angeles I guess.

Amen to that! It baffles me that no one can see this. The Gospel at Mass this weekend talked of how different gifts are given to different people and how we need to look for the gift that was given to us. That is what we are called to do. Just look at all the women Saints who are now also Doctors of the Church. No, they weren’t priests but that didn’t stop them from fulfilling God’s mission for them!

Father Corapi is fantastic! My BIL who is an Episcopal priest is thinking of converting due to the problems with the Episcopal church and from listening to talks given by Fr. Corapi!

Can you believe I have never heard any of Fr. Corapi’s lectures? Any suggestions on where to start?
It’s funny - I almost didn’t post this story - I’m glad I did now.

My mom sent me a series of lectures he gave on family, family life, and sex that she got from someone at her church. It has the EWTN logo on the bottom of the screen so I think that it was just copied from the TV…I’m sure that he’s got videos out there of his stuff though. If not, he should have!

I actually found a couple of books on tape at Amazon and EWTN also has some of his lectures. Thanks for all the info… I have my DVR set to record saturday night.
