They both gave donations to what they called a worthy cause. However, Planned Parenthood isn’t seeing near the damage or destruction as the Mormons are. There are laws to protect Planned Parenthood but apparently no laws to protects different Churches.
From Fox News:
(G)ay activists and thousands of their supporters have rallied outside Mormon temples around the country, protesting the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints’ support for California’s Proposition 8, the ballot initiative to make same-sex marriage illegal in the Golden State.
Protesters have defaced some church buildings, and in Arapaho County, Colo., the Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible hate crime — the torching of the Book of Mormon on a church’s doorstep.
So why is the Mormon Church the only target?
It’s because of the money, says Evan Wolfe, executive director of Freedom to Marry….
According to Californians Against Hate, which lobbied to defeat Prop 8, Mormons gave $25 million of the almost $40 million that groups supporting the initiative spent on advertising and get-out-the-vote efforts.
So, what does this have to do with Planned Parenthood? Well, when Planned Parenthood started their One Million Strong Campaign the pro-lifers said the same thing and we were seen as the bad guys in the news. Perhaps we need to send the gay pro-lifers out to protest for us? That should throw the media for a loop!
The Mormons are a private organization that receive private funding. They have every right to put that money into a social cause they agree with. Planned Parenthood is a publicly funded organization that had no right to spend my money on getting the Democrats elected.
Now back to the article:
"They did the slickest commercials you’ve ever seen, and they mostly do it to convince younger people why its OK to be opposed to same sex marriage," Californians Against Hate founder Frank Karger told FOXNews.com.
Hmm…. Kind of reminds me of Planned Parenthood commercials for their latest malls and contraception’s. They spend all of their money and time telling young people a promiscuous lifestyle is OK. Yet, when I complain about that I’m being ignorant.
When I send out lists of company’s that support Planned Parenthood and request a boycott, I am seen as being ridiculous and hysterical. The same attitude isn’t applied to the Gay community.
There have been calls to boycott the annual Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah; some activists have called for a boycott of the entire state of Utah…..
In the weeks after Nov. 4, of Gay activist John Aravosis, editor of Americablog.com, called on Hollywood to shun the Sundance Film Festival, held just a few hours’ drive from Salt Lake City.
"Anyone who attends Sundance is quite literally funding the enemy," he wrote. Aravosis also called for a boycott of tourism and skiing in the "Hate State of Utah."
I was seen as being over reactive when I called on Planned Parenthood to provide information on why they received over $350M in tax payers money yet made a profit of approximately One Billion. Is the same being said about this:
And last week, Californians Against Hate filed a complaint with the state Fair Political Practices Commission alleging that the Mormon Church did not report all of its non-monetary contributions to the campaign.
I’m beginning to think California’s Against Hate is following the Pro-Life agenda on how an organization should be held accountable for their actions. However, the Gays are seen as victims and the Pro-Lifers are seen as criminals.
I just love the liberal hypocrisy don’t you? I have no problems with the Gay community calling for boycotts or setting up protests in front of a Church as long as they follow the laws. Just as I have every right to do the same in front of a Planned Parenthood (the Liberal’s Church) as long as I follow the laws. Yet when it comes to the stories being reported the Gays have every Constitutional right to break into a Church and disrupt a service but I have no right to talk to a woman who doesn’t want to have an abortion but feels she has to because no one told her about the abundance of choices available to her.
