I actually hope that I am wrong on this, but it looks like Planned Parenthood may have covered up for not only a pedophile but a kidnapper as well. There are many stories on this right now; some of them are very detailed while others are not. From Forbes:
A man accused in the disappearance of a teenage runaway who was found locked in a hidden room in his home was a match for DNA
ollected from the girl’s aborted fetus, according to an arrest warrant Wednesday.
A sexual assault charge was added against Adam Gault, 41, who has denied having sexual contact with the girl. Authorities say she ran away from her Bloomfield home in June 2006 when she was 14 and moved in with Gault, a man who had worked with her stepfather years earlier.
According to the warrant, the girl told investigators she had had an abortion at Planned Parenthood in West Hartford on May 1 but would not identify the father. Police obtained a search warrant to test the fetus, which had been sent to a diagnostic lab in Massachusetts as standard procedure.
According to the Religious Tolerance website Connecticut does not have a parental consent/notification law, so that is not a legal issue in this case. However, Wikipedia has the age of consent in Connecticut:
The age of consent is 16 for sexual encounter (and 15 for sexual contact).
Between 13 and 16, it is a positive defense against the assault, in case a sexual encounter, if the age difference is less than 2 years old.
But if the actor of abuse has authority or influence (and is above 20), the consent age is 18.
For most offenses, there is a worse felony or misdemeanor classification if the minor is under 16.
She was 15 when she went in for an abortion. She refused to give the name of the father. Did Planned Parenthood do anything? Wouldn’t red flags come up all over the place when she refused to identify the father? Considering Planned Parenthood’s history of cover ups: in California which was caught on tape by UCLA student Lila Rose; in Cincinnati where 2 separate lawsuits have been filed; and in Kansas and Indiana where they refused to help in pedophilia investigations, you would think they would be more careful.
She got the abortion 1 month before she was rescued. That is 1 month of hell that this girl could have avoided if Planned Parenthood had protected her. However, I’m sure Planned Parenthood will say it was the girls fault for not being more honest. You know, the law according to Planned Parenthood that says the victim is to blame.
Now a question: Does anyone know why it is standard procedure to send fetuses to diagnostic labs?
Also, I did want to commend the Associated Press for not using the minor’s name in their articles. Many other journalists not only released her name but the name of her parents as well. That is just rude to do after these new charges of sexual abuse were filed.
