This is just so amazing. I just can’t believe how upset the left is that she is back in the spotlight. So, she disagrees with them – so do millions of other women. What is it with Palin that makes them so hysterical?
From ABC’s Jake Tapper:
“Right now, Sarah Palin is on a highly publicized, nationwide book tour, attacking President Obama and his plan for health reform at every turn,” writes (Organizing
for America) director Mitch Stewart in an email first reported by Christina Bellantoni at Talking Points Memo. “It’s dangerous. Remember, this is the person who coined the term ‘Death Panels’ — and opened the flood gates for months of false attacks by special interests and partisan extremists.”
Stewart quotes Palin saying she hopes health reform will be “dead on arrival” and appearing on Rush Limbaugh’s radio show where she “outrageously — and falsely — suggested that Americans could ‘face jail time as punishment’ if they don’t buy insurance.” (The truth is, at least in the House bill, Americans could face jail time as a punishment if they don’t pay the fine for failing to buy insurance, if they can afford to do so.)
“Palin has many more interviews scheduled on Hannity and other conservative shows in the next few weeks, with more platforms to go after the President,” says Stewart. “As soon as she does, the rest of our opponents will likely parrot those attacks.”
Stewart sets the goal for donors to give $500,000 in the next week “to help push back against Sarah Palin and her allies.”
Seriously? All this because she wrote a book and is critical of the Obama Administration? Or is it they are afraid that she is right and the opposition knows that and will never stop speaking about it as long as Palin keeps talking. There is a hysterical need to get her to shut up. I don’t think I have ever seen anything like this from any side of a debate – even when all the Bush haters held up signs of Bush as the devil (but you know, it is wrong to do that to Obama).
(You can go here to read parts of the bill itself regarding the death panels. There is a link to the bill itself so you can look it up for yourself.)

Lapinski, the Pro Life democrat from Illinois was on Relevant Radio today. When asked about the “death panels” he said that the whole question had basically not been addressed yet. He promised that he would be watching closely. He certainly didn’t pooh-pooh the whole idea. Pretty much admitted that the wording would have to be made veeeery carefully. I found that interesting. It was the most reasonable response I’ve heard to the “death panel” accusations. While there are no “death panels” in place, the door has not been shut to rationing (he brought up that we can see how easily this will be done by the mammogram/pap smear stuff that came out last week) and that there is no language specifically preventing rationing.
Lots of promises have been made and will be made. But as Cardinal George said last night at a Chastity Benefit I attended…Politicians are all about politics and NEVER about PRINCIPLES. So promises are a dime a dozen.
As any good lawyer will tell you…GET IT IN WRITING!
