Fidel Castro should run the U.S.

Strange title, I know.  However, I’m beginning to think that is what some Democrats are trying to have here.  Rep. Diane Watson from California is Castro’s #1 fan.

Michelle Malkin was kind enough to transcribe one of Watson’s latest speeches(See end of article for audio of this speech):

You might have heard their philosophical leader. I think his name is Rush Limbaugh. And he said early on, “I hope that he fails.”

Do you know what that means? If the president, your commander-in-FidelCastro chief, fails, America fails.

This is what bothers me.  The Democrats screamed and screamed that they wanted Bush to fail, and his failure would be America’s win.  Now that the situation is reversed if the President fails then America fails.  Hello?  What part of this is so confusing?  Obama’s policies are not something we agree with, so why would we want him to succeed?  You see, in our opinion, his success means the fall of American freedom.  Freedom is at the heart of America.  We lose freedom, we lose America.

Now, when a senator says that this will be his Waterloo, and we all know what happened at Waterloo, then we have him and he fails. Do we want a failed state called the United States?

And remember: They are spreading fear and they are trying to see that the first president that looks likes me fails.

The racist card is getting old.  I’m allowed to disagree with a man I disagree with.  I should not be forced to believe in a man just because of his skin color.  People with non-white skin color should be very careful.  Do they really want the “race card” to become the equivalent to the “boy who cried wolf”?

Now just understand what’s at the bottom line.

And you know we just got, 48 hours ago, we just go back, we were in Beijing, China, Hong Kong, China, we were in Taiwan, we were in Guam, we were all over the Far East.

I just want you to know: People look at the United States as a country that has changed its way and has elected someone from Kenya and Kansas, I’ll put it like that.

And they’re saying, “We thought you would never do that.”

Newsflash to Rep. Watson – Dual citizenship is not recognized in the U.S.  He is either from Kansas or he is not from Kansas.  Another newsflash to Rep. Watson – Obama never lived in Kenya.  He visited Kenya.  He has probably spent less than 2 months in Kenya in his entire life.  People saying he is “from Kenya” is like saying I am “from Poland”.  However, it isn’t me that is Polish, it is my relatives that are.  I am an American of Polish decent.  HUGE difference between the two.

So we don’t want to have this young man, and he just turned 48 — we want him to succeed, because when he succeeds, we regain our status. We regain our status.

It was just mentioned to me by our esteemed speaker, “Did anyone say anything about the Cuban health system?”

And lemme tell ya, before you say “Oh, it’s a commu–”, you need to go down there and see what Fidel Castro put in place. And I want you to know, now, you can think whatever you want to about Fidel Castro, but he was one of the brightest leaders I have ever met. [APPLAUSE]

And you know, the Cuban revolution that kicked out the wealthy, Che Guevara did that, and then, after they took over, they went out among the population to find someone who could lead this new nation, and they found…well, just leave it there (laughs), an attorney by the name of Fidel Castro…

Communist_star I just love it when the politicians do this.  If you go to the CIA world fact book they do not even know how much of the population lives below poverty level so how can we actually say the government is indeed caring for it’s people in a responsible way on every aspect of life which includes healthcare?  And for those that have only received the liberal view of Cuba it is a socialist republic with a single party communist state.  Fidel Castro was a dictator.  Is this really a country that we want to model anything after?

The love many of the democrats have for countries that are communistic just proves what the Republicans have been saying – That the Democrats won’t be happy until we are a communistic country with a long term dictator.

Oh, and something else the Democrats aren’t telling you.  The infant mortality rate is low in Cuba because it has one of the highest abortion rates in the world.  See a problem with a fetus on ultrasound – abort!  Their abortion rate is 57 per 1,000 women aged  15-24.  Their birth rate is one of the lowest in the Western Hemisphere and the have the lowest rate of fertility.  Their population is decreasing.

Something else to note – Cuba hasn’t divulged any statistics on miscarriages since 1984.  The average number of children women have has significantly decreased since then too.

PLUS these number are probably lower than what reality is since the Cuban government won’t allow anyone to physically verify these numbers.

    Val,

I listened very carefully to CNN’s coverage of the eulogies for Ted Kennedy at the JFK Library … quite a fellow! For years now, I’ve had all sorts of trouble reconciling the pro-abortion stance of liberal (and some conservative) politicians who are Catholic and our Church’s strong (could hardly get any more determined than JP II) anti-abortion rhetoric. The two could not be more diametrically opposed to each other. Confusion persisted, until last night.

Perhaps, the Church (& especially its hierarchy) are just scapegoats …. fall-guys for a rather old ploy. It is true that these folks ARE Catholic … but these are for the most part wealthy, very wealthy people! Jesus Himself and the early Church had some very stern things to say about wealth.

Just how does anyone reconcile the pursuit of wealth (above all) and the pursuit of God, especially when amassed wealth is ‘the good life’ and the goal of ‘the pursuit of happiness’?

We all are taught how our countries (US & CANADA) and so-wealthy (compared to other nations). We may live (etching out enough to eat) here, but very few folks have control of this wealth. Why this is so is ????? We fear so much about communism yet many are speechless beside nuns (who are likely some of the purist communist organizations in the world, including Mother Teresa’s Sister’s off Charity).

Stupidly the (wealthy) Democrats simply want all Americans to follow the example of wealthy folks. They had for decades used abortion as birth-control via private doctors. It is only JUST to expand this to more common folk. Please note, that this is the impetus of the Obamacare package. [There is no consensus on whether orthodox medicine is THE best approach to medicine. Yet it is the only one being discussed.]

This view is very recent for me and may/may not be accurate. Do wonder if such is correct. Would love input ….

    Hi Val,

sorry that this responce is sssooooo late in coming!

Your encounters with orthodox medicine are much more usual than you think. Most alternate approaches are far less ‘quack’ than is believed. Personally, I think it is ‘orthodoxy that is THE worst.

The Church (especially the American Catholic Chhurch) is filled with all sorts of problems. By far, THE biggest one is its reliance on formality. Its discipline is regimented as if the Church was a military organization.

Jesus revelation that God is ‘Abba” does away with any sort of formalism. [my couin was a priest and his mom used to call him 'Father'. ] Abba in Aramaic (the language Jesus spoke means literally ‘Dad/Daddy’. By far, it is a word of familial intimacy. This is lost when we use the word ‘Father’ instead!

Call your priest by his first name .. not Father. If asked, tell him that if you can call God by His first name, Jesus. Then you should be able to call his servants (including bishops) by their first names.
